The beaches along the Western Cape of South Africa, along what is known as False Bay, are warmer, family friendly, and less developed. The beaches on the Atlantic coast have cooler waters and are densely populated with restaurants and shops.
Beaches on the Atlantic Ocean
The beaches along the Western Cape of South Africa have become known as the Cape Town Riviera. This area is located on the western side of the Cape Peninsula along the Atlantic Cost. These beaches are protected from some of the strongest winds and enjoy longer time in the sun. However, even with the additional sunshine the waters tend to be a bit cooler here than on the False Bay beaches.
