1. Similar or cheaper cost to other options depending on the move and distance.
2. You can keep the container for as long as you need it.

4. There are no ramps or steps needed to load or unload your items.
5. You use your own lock to secure access to your container.
6. Driving is not required to handle the moving container because it is moved for you.

1. The containers are more manageable with a size of 5x7x8.
2. The containers are easier to place.
3. The containers can sit on slight inclines.

- Only one size option is availab
le
- The containers are non-insulated.
- Shipping is done by normal freight shipping methods.
- There is a limited area being only in the Midwestern and Central portion of the US.
Some Advantages of PODS Containers
Along with Door-to-Door, PODS is the other main player in the personal moving and storage field. Some of the advantages of PODS over its competition are:
1. A variety of container sizes ranging from 5x7x8 up to 8x8x12.
2. Company trucks and equipment are used to move a PODS container.
3. There are more service locations and storage facilities available than the competition.
Some Disadvantages of PODS Containers
While there are advantages to PODS over the Door-to-Door system, there are also a few disadvantages as well.
1. The cost of indoor storage is higher than the outdoor option and Door-to-Door.
2. The PODS container can be hard to place at the location.
3. The PODS container might have zoning issues or require permits because of size.
4. The PODS container can't sit on an incline or declined surface.
When it comes to the range of services and availability overall, PODS are the better option over the Door-to-Door system. But when it comes to pricing, portability and placement Door-to-Door is the better choice. Either system can be a good option for self-service moving depending on the requirements and need.
