Moving is a hassle, no matter what way you choose to move. Storage, both during and after the move, can also be problematic. Up until the late 1980's the only solutions to these problems were the following:

What Is A Pod?
The term POD stands for Portable On-Demand Storage system. In simple terms a moving pod is a portable storage unit which is delivered to your home, allowing you to pack at your own pace. Then the pod is transported to the new location where you unload the items directly from the container to the house. The moving pod can also be stored at a warehouse until you need it at the new location.
Various Pod Uses
While moving pods are most noted for moving from one location to another, there are a variety of applications for them.
-Quick short term storage of unnecessary or "in the way" items.
-Construction storage
-Extra space for use while cleaning up or cleaning out a house.
